From individual to societal solutions.

Media report that mental health issues among students and young professionals are on the rise. Blamed are the competitive job markets, demanding careers, social media use and rising expectations of ourselves and others. Solutions however focus on the individual level. Mindfulness and therapies offer tools to deal with a life full of stress, but do not affect the social circumstances that make it difficult in the first place.

How can we develop a broader view on mental health issues of young people?

For this round-table conversation we have invited students, young professionals, employers and mental health professionals to share their insights. Together with the audience we will address questions such as: Are we witnessing an ‘epidemic’? What social structures are detrimental and beneficial to mental health?  What could be done to turn the tide and create a healthier environment for us all to prosper?

Moderator Rudy van Beurden will lead the conversation.
